We’ve the week off!!!   Training schedule as below! (Bring your canoe!)

Match Reports:

U10: On Tues evening last, we played football matches against St Patricks in our own pitch. We had 2 teams against a determined St Patricks. We played some great stuff by both our 10s teams on the night. The kids are showing immense progress and a great bunch altogether!  Colin Tuite.

U12: had their hurling final last Friday in UL. Unfortunately we couldn’t complete the double. We went up against Glenroe and played a fiercely competitive game. We missed a few chances and hit the upright on one occasion. Ultimately it was a game where small margins counted. We ended up on the wrong side of a 2.06 to 1.01 scoreline. Great credit due to our small squad for never giving up. U13 starts this week with game at home on Monday and also home game on Wednesday Oct 9.

Thanks again to the parents who continue to support the boys.  Morgan O’Sullivan.

Junior Hurlers : gave great displays last week as per schedule above. Against Patrickswell, under lights, we were four points down late in second half with goals from Cian Graham & Peter Garland putting us a point up with time almost up. Fair play to Patrickswell as they equalised with a late free. Replay to be fixed. We express our appreciation to St Patricks for hosting the final and having the pitch in great nick, Hammy Dawson & Eamonn Phelan..take a bow!

We entertained Castletown/Ballyagran on Sat in a very wet but well appointed Askeaton. We led 1-5 to 0-6 at the break with Killian Hannan grabbing our green flag. With little between the teams going into the last 10mins our outstanding first half exertions seem to catch up with us and we found ourselves 5 down at the final whistle. This tremendous effort will stand to this young team. The team & management appreciate the big club support & well wishes for both matches and we thank referee Mike Mann for his excellent handling of both games in contrasting & difficult condition.

Having umpires at both games which demonstrated the professionalism from Mike and all 3 teams appreciate this approach. We wish Castletown Ballyagran & all other teams in the semi finals the very best of luck in this very competitive competition.
